Making a Lasting Difference WITH LONG-TERM SUPPORT

Making a Lasting Difference WITH LONG-TERM SUPPORT

The grace you share through the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission can continue to impact others far into the future. That's something that George and Marlene Riemer have embraced since moving to Santa Barbara in 1996 after George retired. "Soon after getting settled into the community," Marlene smiles, "I happily joined the Women's Auxiliary of the Rescue Mission as one of its founding members."

George recalls, "Marlene learned all about the Rescue Mission and began contributing to the many ways it provides critical aid to lives in crisis. She even held a Christmas tea in our home for all of the residents in Bethel House, and hosted a special event to increase membership in the Women's Auxiliary."

Marlene says, "Those experiences motivated us to establish a lasting way to ensure long-term support for those helped by the Mission." George nods, "So we provided a gift to the Santa Barbara Foundation, which results in supportive payments to the Rescue Mission every year."

That kind of ongoing impact is vital to a ministry serving 24/7/365. Without the individual gifts and long-term planned giving of partners like you and the Riemers, the Rescue Mission couldn't continue providing the meals, shelter, counseling, and life-changing recovery to those in need.

Marlene says, "It's been a pleasure for us to support this organization in so many ways and for all these reasons! We've especially enjoyed the yearly Bayou event, recovery program graduations, and hearing testimonials from the residents helped at the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission."
